Missouri River
The Missouri River is the premier tail water fishery in the west. Yes, a dam makes for some very consistent and very good fishing. The Mo is one of the funnest places to be and any Montana fisherman definitely wants to be there in June and early July. While run-off does its thing every where else in the state, the Missouri is likely on fire. Caddis, PMD’s, midges, and a whole lot of deadly nymphs typically lead to banner days. The time is now for the Missouri, the fish counts are exceptional, the hatches are happening and the place is buzzing. For us the Missouri is a gem and we look forward to being there in June, early July and again in the fall.
River Fly Outfitters generally recommends at least two days fishing the Missouri and for fishermen to make reservations for accommodations as far in advance as possible.
