Crazy Mountains, Big Timber, Montana, waiting for La Nina!

La Nina hasn’t quite made it to Montana yet.  In fact, if there wasn’t the promise of La Nina to come in the winter of 2011-2012, I would be getting a little irritated with the lack of precipitation yet to fall this winter.  It’s early and things could turn around very soon.  Once again, I am watching the weather like I have crops to water and can’t wait for the snow to fly.  So far here in the Livingston and Big Timber area it’s been mostly brown and windy.  I took a few pictures this afternoon that can give one an idea of what our local area looks like at this time of year.  It’s still pretty as can be.  Here is a link from the National Weather Service office in Missoula, Montana that is explaining our Montana weather pattern and what La Nina may be up to…
