Closest River Fishing Near Livingston…currently

Yesterday I had a chance to get the real scoop on the current fishing at the lower Madison River.  In summary I would say it’s not too bad.  My angler for the day didn’t set any records (in both directions).  We saw a few real nice ones and had just enough action to keep the day going at a nice pace.  Would have liked to have seen more big fish and would like to go back to find them.  The flows are at a nice level and the clarity is at about 3 brownish feet.  Still waiting on the Boulder and Stillwater, should be soon.  Here is a shot of the lower Madison as of right now…
