Flyfishing Montana in June

Being the introductory month to summer, June in Montana is full of flyfishing possibilities.  These days are the first to get hot with a chance to shed the waders, the first to allow for fishing dry PMD’s and maybe chubbies, stoneflies, and caddis.  This June has so far proven to be full of water with dammed waters being the hotspots. I’ve been ranging all over the middle and south western part of the state in the last few weeks finding good fishing on the Missouri, Beaverhead, Big Hole and Livingston area spring creeks.  Lots of dry fly opportunities mixed in with some 2x bobber bombing has been the name of the game.  Life is so good!!
