October In Yellowstone Country
The fishing reports are getting fewer and farther between and the season is winding down. In fact my last guide trip of the year may have been last Saturday. If it was it was a great way to cap off a fine fishing year. Booked through Sweetwater Flyshop, myself and Dave Goff guided a group of great folks hosted by the Walker family. These are great trips with great people and we always have a good time. We did an afternoon float under the snowcapped Absaroka mountains and enjoyed a few hours of rising fish. It was a perfect day to be on the water with barely a breath of wind and a high of about 60 degrees. My camera can’t do it justice but the natural beauty was in the top ten of the year. October is truly fall here in Yellowstone country and if one can swing it, I highly recommend fishing Montana at this time of year! Here are a few pictures of the river and a bent rod…
